The article, "No Child Left Behind and Fine Arts Classes" by Tina Beveridge describes how the No Child Left Behind Act effects the fine arts. The NCLB act states that teachers and administrators should help students that are falling behind in order to catch up. Teachers would then take kids out of their fine arts classes. Whenever funding is short at schools they immediatly get rid of the arts programs instead of trying to raise the money. A lot of people think that math and science are the most important subjects and nothing else is really necessary. Music and art have its own skills that need to be taught. The arts teach kids how to work together and learn how to be a leader. Things like that are easier to teach with the arts than in classrooms. If people choose to neglect the arts then what is the point in keeping the No Child Left Behind Act?
